A monthly meditation session to enhance our connection to nature and the heart. Experience the powerful benefits of group meditation within a beautiful setting.

Ease stress and tension, practice compassion, and bring more peace to our every day lives. Various meditations are covered in each session such as visualisations, grounding techniques, letting go, heart-based and intuitive practices. Time for reflection and discussion after each meditation.

Please bring something to sit on or lie on such as a camping chair, yoga mat, cushion or blanket and a water bottle. Coffee and cake/biscuits provided if people would like to stay for a chat afterwards for 15-20 minutes

Navigating Perimenopause and Menopause

A one day workshop offering information, support and empowerment for women struggling during this period of transition

Saturday 16th October 2021, 10am-3pm

Support for both the emotional and physical experience of Perimenopause and Menopause has historically been overlooked, leaving many women feeling distressed, confused, and isolated.

If you feel you are struggling related to this ‘change’ in your life (or even you are not sure why you don’t feel quite yourself), this workshop is for you. You are not alone!

Led by experienced therapist, Laura Buckingham, the day will cover:

* Menopause facts and busting myths
* Symptom checking
* Life-style and self-care support
* Impact on both physical and mental health
* Knowing NICE guidelines for best care – establishing support from your GP
* Signposting – helping you find on-going support
* Best practice for supplements and diet
* Shared experience and group support

Separating the mind and body is the adaptive response to trauma.  This leads us to become disconnected from our feelings, and unable to access them for release.

Somatic awareness enables us to bring the natural intelligence and language of the human body (and the emotional blocks which may be held there) into consciousness, to be worked with.

Learning to listen and respond skillfully to this complements our cognitive and emotional intelligence,  enhancing our journey towards healing and balance.

This workshop will cover:

* What is somatics?
* Valuing the non-verbal: The hidden language of the body
* Practical exercise in somatic experience
* Uses of somatic awareness, traditional and modern
* Practical exercise in directed consciousness
* Somatic impact of the difficult and challenging
* Experiential and cognitive skills required to practice somatic awareness


Please wear loose/comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat and drink for your comfort.

Hugh guides people towards balance and healing through the Sukhita method: a non-verbal somatic practice which creates wholesome change from experiential awareness and understanding the human condition.  A teacher trainer, mentor and life-long practitioner of yoga and mindfulness meditation his approach is rare in its simplicity and depth.

Meditation is an ancient practice and technique, proven to help reduce stress and tension, increase awareness, strengthen insight, bring clarity, release blocks and barriers and enhance our general well-being. Many people that have never tried meditation may feel it is about sitting for lengthy periods of time in silence and although traditional Buddhist practice is more along these lines, there is a much broader scale to be experienced. It not only enables us to feel a sense of inner peace and calm, but improves our emotional and physical health.

Four weekly sessions to help begin and develop a meditation practice – learn to release stress and anxiety and promote inner calm and peace

• Focussing on the breath
• Increasing our awareness
• Observing our busy minds and thoughts

Week 2
• Bodyscan meditations
• Being aware of sensations in the body
• Noticing how our emotions feel in a physical sense

Week 3
• Introducing compassion into our lives
• Heart based meditations to increase feelings of compassion towards ourselves and others
• Showing kindness and compassion to our inner critic

Week 4
• Connecting to our inner voice
• Learning to trust our higher self
• Visualisation meditations to tap into our intuition and gain strength, wisdom and insight

For your comfort, please bring a yoga mat, cushion or folding chair plus blanket and water
