Moon Mna Women’s Circle

Moon Mna Women's Circle

Monthly, Saturdays, 10am-1pm

Moon Mna circles coincide with the lunar calendar,
and the energies connected with this.
Dates and circle themes are released each month via our
Facebook and Instagram pages

Middle Aston House, OX25 5PT

Moon Mna (Gaelic for women) Circles consist of a group of like hearted women gathering in circle on a monthly basis to explore aspects of life important to women under the different phases of Grandmother Moon (Seanmhathair Gealach). The moon is the quintessential symbol of the divine feminine with her gloriously complicated cycle mirroring the stillness of our very being. Each Moon Mna theme has a direct link to Grandmother moon. Women of all ages are welcome to the circles including those who identify as the female gender.

We look at the ancient Goddesses of the Celtic Isles such as The Crone Goddess, the wise old Cailleach who reminds us of the moon waning into darkness and our inevitable ageing process as she wisely advises us to embrace this gently. Midwife goddess Brigid, bringer of springtime, heralds the birth of a new moon phase cycle each month. Maiden Goddess Grainne reflects the moon as she waxes to the sliver of a crescent. There are many more Goddesses and Themes to explore each month.

The circles are well structured and held in a safe and sacred confidential space by a Moon Mna Circle Facilitator. There is time for an energetic cleanse, sharing, the gifting of rites, a fire and a water ceremony, deep relaxation and active listening, tea and treats, journaling and shamanic journeying. We call in our protective spiritual guides and the cardinal 4 directions for protection and to help create a sacred space. The experience of being part of a Celtic Women’s Circle can be deeply healing as well as joyous as well as one that allows time for reflection and space supporting women in today’s frenetic world.

Usui Reiki 1st Degree

Usui Reiki 1st Degree

For beginners to Reiki

Saturday 26th March, 10am-4pm
Middle Aston House, OX25 5PT

Learn the ancient energy healing system of Usui Reiki – a powerful practice which balances mind and body energy systems, for self-care, health and wellbeing

Reiki is a gentle yet powerful form of energy healing which allows the practitioner to act as a channel for the flow of universal energy. It can be learned/received by anyone, with no previous experience. Many have found that attuning to Reiki brings about profound positive lifestyle changes, and increased feelings of well being. Students of Reiki often find themselves naturally ‘drawn’ to the principles of energy healing.

There are three levels of Reiki training and attunement. Level 1 introduces Reiki and enables the student to use this energy for self healing. Regular self treatment at level 1 clears away energetic blocks and old patterns of functioning which no longer serve us, sometimes in preparation for Level 2 which enables us to become Reiki practitioners for others. Level 3 is the Master teaching level.

Reiki Usui Level 1 includes:

• History of Reiki

• The Reiki Ideals

• Chakras and the human energy systems

• Reiki 1 attunement

• Practice treatment

• Self treatment

• Creating a healing space

• Reiki and animals

• Caution, confidentiality and ethics

Reiki Masters Jules Sealby and Susie Rose:

Jules Sealby is a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist, Energy Psychotherapist and Intuitive Energy Healer.
Susie Rose is an Energy Healer, Intuitive and Soul Coach.

Reiki was originally an oral tradition and the fidelity of passing on of Reiki teaching is sacredly held. Reiki Masters can trace their teaching lineage directly back to Dr Usui. Reiki Master Jules is 10th degree attuned from Dr Usui and Reiki Master Susie is 8th degree attuned from Dr Usui.

Self care in the Helping Professions

Self care in the Helping Professions

Developing emotional resilience for those working in clinical care

Saturday 23rd April 2022, 10am-1pm
Middle Aston House, OX25 5PT

A 3 hour workshop designed to understand and respond to professional self care needs of professionals working to support the physical, emotional and mental health of others.

Those working in the helping professions understand the mechanism of ‘taking on’ or ‘taking in’ vicarious trauma in their work and feel the challenging effects of this in their bodies and minds.  Over time and without adequate support, this leads to compassion fatigue and eventually burnout.

This workshop introduces strategies and techniques to:

• Understand the effects of vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue

• Better understand your professional self care needs through a self care audit.

• Identify your ‘at risk’ patterns and behaviours – signs and symptoms.

• Integrate new habitual self care practices.

• Experience energy psychotherapy practices to clear your mind and body of unhelpful energies picked up in the work (methods include EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and TAT (Tapas Acupressure Technique), the use sound vibration and visualisation)

• Pre empting blocks to self care

• Create a self care plan

£60 per person

Yin Flow Yoga Course

Yin Flow Yoga Course

Tuesdays, 6-7.15pm & 7.30-8.45pm

Spring Term
Starts 4th January

A combination of Hatha and Yin Yoga Asanas, Pranayama and meditation in a flowing sequence, creating a sense of health and wellbeing

No previous yoga experience is needed and beginners are welcome

A Yin Yoga Flow class begins with pranayama (breathwork) to help calm the mind and focus the breath. The first part of the class focuses on warming the body with a hatha flow sequence to help prepare the body for the longer held floor-based yin postures in the second part of the class.

Yin Yoga is inspired by ancient Chinese Taoist practices including the system of meridians and 5 elements theory in which stretches are held for 3-5mins. Paulie Zink first introduced Yin to the West in the 1970’s and those influenced by him such as the world’s leading Yin Yoga teachers of today including Paul Grilley, Bernie Clark, Norman Blair and Sarah Powers have developed it into a very popular form of yoga practice ideal for today’s fast paced world.

Yin postures are mostly seated, supine or low to the ground, gentle stretches and holds. The hatha (yang) poses work on the superficial musculature of the body while the yin poses work on the deeper musculature of the connective tissue (ligaments, tendons and fascia) in the body.

Benefits of Yin Yoga

• Longer held poses allow more access to the ligaments and tendons surrounding the joints, as well as the fascia (home to the energetic body of the Chinese system of meridians, fascia is a system of connective tissue wrapped around muscles, internal organs and joints).

• As fascia is stimulated and manipulated, felt changes occur and chi/energy/prana flows more easily in the body. When chi/energy/prana flows more easily, we feel more spacious and well.

• Gain a deeper understanding of one’s own body and help release areas of blockage or tension

• Gain an understanding of the energy within the yin poses and how to approach each pose in order to gain maximum benefit.

• Develop patience, stillness and presence of mind.

• Being present with one pose for longer, allows the student to meditate on felt sensation in the body, the movement of the mind, or the teacher’s guided contemplation

• Yin is good for the soul as it brings us to a greater sense of well-being because it asks us to slow down and rest.

Whether we arrive at a yin practice to awaken after long periods of stagnation, or to settle down after a lifetime of movement addiction, it can be the perfect balance needed to heal, body, mind and soul. This is a general yoga class, no previous yoga experience is needed and beginners are welcome. You will be encouraged to work at your own pace and to listen to your body’s needs.

£72 for a 6 week course
