Yoga and Kirtan Circle Workshop

Yoga and Kirtan Circle Workshop

A morning of Hatha Yoga, Breathwork, Kirtan Chanting and Yoga Nidra

Saturday 13th August, 10am-1pm

A combination of Hatha and Yin Yoga Asanas, Pranayama and meditation in a flowing sequence, creating a sense of health and wellbeing

This workshop is an opportunity to explore the traditional hatha yoga postures or asanas and breath control or pranayama as a way to enhance the vital energy or prana in the body, increase flexibility of the muscles and joints and strengthen the body, mind and spirit. Hatha yoga can be helpful for conditions such as anxiety, depression, back pain, arthritis, balance, emotional health, menopause, sleep problems, stress management and many more health conditions.

Kirtan means to come together in praise to sing the name of the higher power of our own understanding. Chanting refreshes the spirit, cleanses the mind and uplifts the soul. As we open our hearts, we experience our natural state of joy and happiness. In essence, Kirtan is joyful meditation where we chant together focusing on mantras in sanskrit accompanied with harmonium and drum. You don’t have to be a good singer to join in, it is not about that, it is about coming together with others’ in community to give thanks to the divine and raise our energetic vibration and create peace in our hearts and minds.

The workshop schedule is as follows:

10am-10.30am
Pranayama Techniques

10.30am - 11.30am
Physical Asanas in a typical hatha sequence of a sun salutation warm up, standing poses, balancing poses, inversions such as shoulder stand and floor based asanas to support and strengthen the spine and legs.

11.30-11.50 am
Yoga Nidra (Guided Yogic Sleep) for deep relaxation

Moon Mna Women’s Circle

Moon Mna Women's Circle

Monthly, Saturdays, 10am-1pm

Moon Mna circles coincide with the lunar calendar,
and the energies connected with this.
Dates and circle themes are released each month via our
Facebook and Instagram pages

Middle Aston House, OX25 5PT

Moon Mna (Gaelic for women) Circles consist of a group of like hearted women gathering in circle on a monthly basis to explore aspects of life important to women under the different phases of Grandmother Moon (Seanmhathair Gealach). The moon is the quintessential symbol of the divine feminine with her gloriously complicated cycle mirroring the stillness of our very being. Each Moon Mna theme has a direct link to Grandmother moon. Women of all ages are welcome to the circles including those who identify as the female gender.

We look at the ancient Goddesses of the Celtic Isles such as The Crone Goddess, the wise old Cailleach who reminds us of the moon waning into darkness and our inevitable ageing process as she wisely advises us to embrace this gently. Midwife goddess Brigid, bringer of springtime, heralds the birth of a new moon phase cycle each month. Maiden Goddess Grainne reflects the moon as she waxes to the sliver of a crescent. There are many more Goddesses and Themes to explore each month.

The circles are well structured and held in a safe and sacred confidential space by a Moon Mna Circle Facilitator. There is time for an energetic cleanse, sharing, the gifting of rites, a fire and a water ceremony, deep relaxation and active listening, tea and treats, journaling and shamanic journeying. We call in our protective spiritual guides and the cardinal 4 directions for protection and to help create a sacred space. The experience of being part of a Celtic Women’s Circle can be deeply healing as well as joyous as well as one that allows time for reflection and space supporting women in today’s frenetic world.

Address the Stress

Address the stress

Available dates:
Sunday 8th May, 6-8pm
Thursday 19th May, 6-8pm

Middle Aston House, OX25 5PT

We have been living in a stressful environment out of our control for over two years and, for some, it has had a dire effect on our emotional, mental and physical wellbeing.

'Addressing the Stress' explains the relationship between a stressor (a threat – real or perceived – that causes dis-ease), a stress response, and the components contributing to various states of being. We will discuss and practice ways to expand your window of tolerance to reduce emotional overwhelm and maximise limited resources to enable you to manage your emotions more effectively and support those around you. This session will empower you by learning more about your body and how to activate your relaxation responses.

I'm Lauren Bond, and I am a Neurocoach (brain and body coach) and Therapeutic Sound Practitioner. I help people that struggle with anxiety, stress and/or emotional overwhelm. I have an extensive background in complex trauma and anxiety related behaviours both from a personal and professional perspective. My professional focus has been to empower people to understand how their life experiences shape their behaviour, and therefore manage their feelings. Some may have a diagnosis that explains these feelings, and for others it may be a relatively new occurrence or experience. My work brings the focus back to the body (which is your own unique communication) to recognise why certain behaviours emerge when we're feeling anxious, stressed or emotionally overwhelmed. When we can recognise and understand our behaviour, we feel empowered to naturally make changes that help us to feel better, leading to long term sustained wellbeing.

I'm Linda Green. For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to help heal and alleviate suffering, both in animals and people. It was being introduced to meditation that had the most profound effect and transformation in myself. It allowed me to still the mind, feel into the body and become more conscious of any emotions I experienced; acknowledging them and allowing them to pass through and release them. Gradually through meditation practice I was able to learn to be more in control of my reactions and emotions in response to things and events that might trigger overwhelming feelings. I still feel the emotions – we are human after all – but rather than being consumed by them and taking up unnecessary space in the brain, meditation helped to allow me to let go and move on from things much more easily.

Voice of the Heart

Voice of the Heart

Friday 15th July, 10.30am-12.30pm

Middle Aston House, OX25 5PT

The heart loves, feels, thinks and communicates with ourselves and others. We spend so much of our time in the head that we forget about all the other functions of the body. The heart being the one that is continually impacted by our emotions and stress levels and we rarely give little attention to it. Numerous scientific studies have shown that when the heart centre is infused by loving and healing intent, it raises the energetic body’s frequency and vibration, not only making us feel better emotionally but improve and heal our physical wellbeing as well.

This two-hour session consists of a variety of heart-based meditation and intuitive practices to gain a better sense of what it means to feel into the heart.

£35

Wellbeing gift bag and refreshments included.
