Please use email as primary contact.
Please be aware that I am not always able to answer calls but I will return your call at the earliest opportunity.
My aim is to support those of us who feel stuck or helpless to feel more valued and alive. It is my belief that everyone is unique and has a valuable contribution to make; as a therapist I see it as my task to help you reveal more of your true self and build or restore your self-belief.
I believe finding the right person in the therapist is just as important as qualifications or experience, and I offer a free initial consultation. Please click here for more information or to book an appointment.
Before becoming a therapist, I was a community care lawyer, representing vulnerable people. This experience helped me to become highly attuned to human distress and meant that I developed the capacity to put people at ease, no matter what their background or ability. I continue to develop my work and I am currently undertaking my psychotherapeutic training. As a practicing professional, I continue to expand and inform my work and I am currently undertaking research in infant observation with the British Psychotherapy Foundation which informs my work in helping people recover from trauma.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by their codes of practice, ethics and continued professional development. Further information on the BACP can be obtained here.
Type of Therapy
I offer Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Psychodynamic therapy can help you to get in touch with your deeper feelings so you can begin to act with more self-awareness, rather than rely on unhelpful ways of coping such as anxiety, depression, over or under-eating, working too hard, or even substance misuse. This differs from many other forms of therapy because we look at the impact your early life might have had on the development of your personality. This can lead us to make surprising links between the past and the present, and can be a very helpful way of making sense of who you are and how you feel and behave.
I work with clients aged 15+
You may want to come for just a few sessions or undertake a longer-term treatment. I predominantly work face to face but in exceptional circumstances, therapy may be offered via video call, telephone or email.
