These monthly Yoga Nidra sessions are crafted with the aim of providing a sanctuary for deep relaxation and inner exploration with intention. Through the practice of Yoga Nidra, we aspire to guide participants towards a state of effortless relaxation, where the boundaries between wakefulness and sleep blur, leading to profound healing and self-discovery. Each session will be tailored to the energy and needs of the group with will provide space for integration. We live in an Era of constantly doing, demands and achievements leading to constant hypervigilant states. This often is linked to stress and anxiety and the difficulty to prioritise rest and self-care. Why Yoga Nidra? Yoga Nidra is a form of guided meditation also known as “yogic sleep” or “effortless relaxation”. It’s usually practiced lying down and held in a cosy and safe container. The practice draws our attention inwards, and we learn to surf between the states of wakefulness and sleep, where our body finds its natural state of equilibrium (homeostasis) – the breath balances and becomes quiet, unconscious and conscious aspects of the mind reveal themselves, and we fall into an innate state of deep, blissful awareness. This guided practice takes us effortlessly into a state of harmonious, restful being, where we can heal, restore and awaken to our deepest, all-knowing, all-welcoming self. It’s a sublime practice, gaining popularity the world over, and ongoing research continues to prove its effectiveness. This practice is particularly appealing for those who struggle to let go and that need to commit their selves to practices of rest and inner growth. It also has immense value for those suffering from symptoms related with stress and lack of self-care, sleep deprivation and the impact of that in the body. It’s also perfect for those who have always been curious about the deep states of meditation they have perhaps read about or stumbled across themselves but have never been able to recreate. Research indicates that just one hour of Yoga Nidra can offer the same rejuvenating effects as four hours of sleep, making it a powerful tool for restoring both body and mind.
