The aim of this workshop is to provide a sanctuary for individuals seeking non-judgemental deep relaxation, rejuvenation and inner peace. Through a fusion of mindful movement meditation, restorative yoga and yoga nidra (yogic sleep), participants will embark on a journey of self-awareness and profound relaxation. Mindful Rest is designed for anyone in search of protected rest time and mindful insight, regardless of their level of experience in yoga or mindfulness practices. Whether you're new to these modalities or an experienced practitioner, this class welcomes all who desire to cultivate a deeper connection with themselves and explore deep-awareness and deep relaxation and rest. No meditation or yoga experience needed. What to expect: • Mindful Movement Meditation: a meditation that incorporates movement in a slow and gentle way, mindful and intentional to explore awareness of body breath and surroundings. Some of these practices are drawn from Thai chi and somatics. • Restorative Yoga: a yoga practice with long held poses, supported by props in gentle, therapeutic poses designed to relax the body and encourage deep surrender. • Yoga Nidra: during Yoga Nidra, practitioners are encouraged to remain in a state of relaxed awareness, similar to the state between wakefulness and sleep. Despite the name, the goal is not to fall asleep but rather to enter a state of profound relaxation where the subconscious mind can be accessed more easily. 15min of Yoga Nidra equals 1h of deep rest with the similar benefits of sleep. This class is tailored to create a safe and non-judgmental space for self-awareness, deep rest and profound relaxation, to replenish your spirit, rejuvenate your body, and cultivate a sense of inner peace that transcends the boundaries of the mat. Sara uses an integrative approach to wellness in her offerings from experience and knowledge in Yoga, Mindfulness, Mind-Body Healing and Nervous System Regulation.
