This Somatic BodyBalance class is inspired by the popular Les Mills BodyBalance™ and adapted to a more holistic somatic approach for a comprehensive integrated mind-body practice. This class is crafted to enhance your flexibility, core strength (Hara), and overall physical wellbeing, while also focusing on regulating and soothing the nervous system through somatic practices. The session includes: somatic breathing techniques as well of vagus nerve practices to dial down stress levels and promote parasympathetic system (rest and digest); Tai Chi and mindful movement inspired warm-up to set a calming tone and focus on mindful breathing; a series of yoga/pilates poses, designed to improve flexibility and build core strength; a somatic relaxation practice to integrate the qualities of this class. Throughout the class, we integrate other somatic practices that encourage you to listen to your body and release stored tension. These practices help in regulating the nervous system, promoting a deeper sense of inner calm and relaxation, as well of promoting mind-body healing and symptoms reduction. By keeping the classes in a close and intimate group of 5-6 people we will build a sense of community and allow classes to be tailored to students needs. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced practitioner, our Somatic BodyBalance class offers modifications and options to suit all levels.
