TRE is a somatic release therapy which uses our body’s natural way of releasing stress to let go of all present and past stress, tension and trauma. A few easy exercises are done to set off the natural shake that releases the residual cortisol remaining in our body from past traumas. When we get a fright, our body naturally shivers or shakes to release the energy/adrenaline. It is a natural process, but often we stop the shaking before the adrenaline is released fully, and therefore gets stuck in our body as cortisol. When it is not released, these high cortisol levels affect our coping mechanisms for the daily stress that comes our way, and our anxiety levels increase, and we do not cope with anything unusual anymore. By doing TRE, we can work on releasing all the stuck cortisol that is causing stress and anxiety. After doing a few sessions of TRE you will find that life becomes more peaceful and you can cope with the daily stresses with ease. It is a therapy you will learn to practice on your own, to use as a preventative meassure whenever you feel necessary, such as a weekly routine to release any day-to-day stress. You will benefit from TRE whether you experience: • Daily stress at work/home • Anxiety • Insomnia • Grief • Childhood trauma • Abusive relationships • PTSD
