Further information for this class/course/event

A perfect class for yoga students, sports practitioners and anyone looking for a therapeutic and natural way to release tension in the body such as legs, hips, upper/lower back, shoulders, and neck. However, no previous experience is required. The aim of this workshop is to provide an experimental integrated approach to your physical health and overall wellbeing. The workshop is divided in three parts to learn and experience ways to release and prevent tension in the fascia: • An integrated body-mind release • Learn and practice techniques and ways to explore pain and tension in the body • An immersion of body connection and distress You will be exploring specific movements, myofascial release using balls and other props (self-massage) and yin yoga to release tension in the deeper fascia and unwind for the session. The small session size means you will receive extra attention from the teacher to support you with the self myofascial release techniques. A powerful and insightful workshop to gain greater understanding and experimental exploration on how the body is connected. We will explore: • Intuitive movement • The release of pain and tension in trigger points and fascial adhesions with myofascial release techniques using props • How to unwind with Yin Yoga What is fascia? Fascia is part of the connective tissue system and penetrates and surrounds all structures of our body. It works as an uninterrupted 3 dimensional web, separating everything and keeping everything together. Myofascial release is a form of pressure massage that helps to break down ‘sticky’ fascia and tension in muscles which improves the body's range of motion, injuries, scar tissues, tension, muscle recovery and function, connect you with your body and help you to de-stress, and to stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, which promotes recovery, relaxation, sleep and digestion. Sara has been using Yoga, Mindful Movement and Myofascial Release for many years as a way of managing her chronic pain and her relationship with it, to enhance recovery and improve her wellbeing. To be able to keep sharing these powerful techniques she continued her studies with Yoga Medicine in Yoga & Myofascial Release a few years after completing her 200h YTT and attended many workshops.
