About Tania
Tania lives locally with her husband and two teenagers. She is an accomplished shiatsu massage therapist, with over 20 years’ experience. She qualified with a diploma in 2004, having studied intensively for three years, and then was recognised as a Fellow of the Shiatsu Society. Until last year Tania was working at Red Barn Retreat near Brackley for 10 years, then previously in Surrey and Brighton.
Tania is also qualified in Reiki 2, for hands-off energetic healing. Tania brings this into her shiatsu treatments, if desired.
Tania’s hobbies include yoga and pilates, walking her two labrador dogs, skiing, boating, cooking and reading.
About working with Tania:
Shiatsu is a gentle, yet powerful healing art originating from Japan. Touch, movement, and stretching encourage balance and change in the body’s “ki” (or energy). When our ki flows freely, our mind and body can relax. As a result, pain is diminished, vitality increased, and healing promoted.
Shiatsu massage stimulates the energy pathways, called meridian channels, mainly using gentle finger pressure as well as stretches and rotations. The receiver remains fully clothed and lies on a futon on the floor.
Tania is skilled in a branch of shiatsu called Shintai, pioneered by Saul Goodman. It is influenced by kinesiology, cranial osteopathy, and physiotherapy. Tania uses this treatment to realign the vertebra, restore movement in the body, unwind the fascia, and encourage self-healing.
Shiatsu can help to ease or even cure a wide range of symptoms. It is particularly helpful in easing stress-related conditions, releasing tension and promoting deep relaxation.
Tania works with anyone over the age of 6.
Fees
First session: £70 (90 minutes)
Subsequent sessions:
£60 (75 minutes)
Pay at the session, via card machine or bank transfer.
